The address is quite clearly heard to be Number 17 Cherry Tree Lane, a fictional street somewhere in London. The address is repeated by Admiral Boom, a neighbour of the Banks', who forewarns Bert that there may be trouble in the Banks household.

Answer: The Sherman brothers simply made it up.

In the DVD it explained how the Sherman brothers decided to combine real words to come up with one particular word. It had to be a word that was super and precocious and atrocious, as well as obnoxious, all in one. I think they came up with one. I know I didn't get it right the first time I tried it say it as a kid.

Answer: horse race

Mary says, "A respectable person like me in a horse race, how dare you suggest such a thing!" when the children talk to her about going into the chalk picture.

Answer: Mrs Lark's dog told them.

No, really... the dog told them! He came up to Mary on the street, barking at her, and she understood him! They all followed the dog to Uncle Albert's house.

Mr. and Mrs. Banks have a discussion about Mary Poppins and whether she is being a help or a hindrance.

Answer: Cockney

Dick van Dyke's Cockney was said to be horrible, but I found it rather good - better than Audrey Hepburn's in 'My Fair Lady', at least.

Jane and Michael wanted to stay longer at Uncle Albert's, yet Mary Poppins let them know it was time go with a firm "spit spot". It was a succinct way of saying "don't argue with me about doing as I asked you to do". It worked every time.

Yep, he died laughing... incidentally, Mr. Banks became a partner, but only because Mr Dawes, Sr. died. Mr. Dawes, Sr. didn't appoint him as a partner.

Jane and Michael write their own advertisement for a nanny and present it to their father. This is part of it.

Answer: Warts

Mr. Banks rips up the children's advertisement but somehow it gets to Mary Poppins, who answers it.

If 'Ah, faith and begorrah' wasn't giveaway enough, I don't know what is!

Answer: East

Bert: 'Wind's in the east... mist's comin' in... like something is brewin', about to begin. Can't put me finger... on what lies in store... but I feel what's to happen all happened before. (Suddenly coming out of his daze) I'm sorry, where was I?'

Answer: Extremely stubborn and suspicious

When Mary reads out the measuring tape's estimation of him, he insists 'I am not!'. Michael's suspicion (that Mary Poppins is clearly a witch) causes him to go through her carpet bag looking for evidence. He finds nothing, of course, although she subsequently extracts a plant, a standing lamp and a singing mirror, amongst other things. 'Close your mouth, Michael, we are not a codfish.'

Answer: She looked so solemn and cross
